Stratosteel supplies open-die forgings under one purchase order with one responsibility. We own no press. The coalition's presses forge, we carry the contract and the verification. Network envelope via the qualified partner coalition: forged pieces to 109 t, project-qualified per order. ESR special metallurgy on request. Machining integrated to 50 t static, delivered machined and documented. Send the drawing, an engineer answers within 48 hours.

First technical answer within 48 hours. Firm quote in 3 to 7 working days once the forging unit is confirmed.

Network envelope via the qualified partner coalition

Contracted through qualified EU partner presses. Not yet exercised under a Stratosteel PO. Stated exactly as that. Every forging is qualified per order, on a project basis.

Machined and documented, not raw

Machining is integrated to 50 t static under the same PO. The forging arrives finished to drawing, with the certificate file. One contract covers the forging, the machining, the verification and the delivery.

We own no press. The coalition's presses forge, Stratosteel carries the contract, the verification and the responsibility. That is the model, on purpose.

The labels are the point. Demonstrated numbers are in service in the network today, documented. Qualified numbers have a contract and no first piece under our PO yet. We write the difference down so you do not have to ask.

ESR: electroslag remelting for demanding grades, quoted per order through the coalition.

First technical answer

An engineer replies with feasibility, the proposed process route and open questions. Not an autoresponder.

3 TO 7 DAYS

Firm quote

Price, lead time, documentation scope. Issued once the production unit is confirmed, so the number holds.

ONE PO

One responsibility

Machining, verification, documentation and delivery under one contract with Stratosteel s.r.o. We manage the plants. Audits at the producing works are arranged through us, not around us.

DELIVERY

Verified part, full file

EN 10204 3.1 certificate, CMM dimensional report, NDT protocol where specified. Traceability to heat number.

What we need from you: the drawing (PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF or IGES), material, quantity and target date. What we do not do: quote blind without a drawing, or start production without an agreed documentation scope. If the part is outside the envelope, we say so in the first reply. The full process →

What arrives at your dock

  • The forging, machined to drawing, not raw
  • EN 10204 3.1 material certificate, 3.2 with named third party on request
  • UT on forgings per specification, MT, PT in the network, RT via ISO 17025 laboratory
  • Traceability to heat number

Proof

Forging is one leg of the one-PO chain. The chain runs today in casting, welding and machining programs. A 6-year forestry OEM program and a serial defence program run under direct Stratosteel POs. Names under NDA. Proof page →

We do not claim a delivered 109 t forging. The envelope is contracted and stated as that.

Materials

42CrMo4, 25CrMo4, C45, 51CrV4, 20MnCr5, 16MnCr5, alloy steels, stainless, high-temperature grades. ESR route on request for demanding grades.

Part families

Forged shafts, discs, rings, blocks, bars, pre-machined blanks. Each one project-qualified, forged in the network, machined under the same PO.

Urgent capacity

When a supplier fails mid-program, send the drawing and write URGENT in the subject. The 48 hour answer includes the earliest realistic slot.

Straight answers

The questions buyers ask about forgings.

Who supplies open die forgings in Europe under one contract?
Stratosteel supplies open-die forgings under one purchase order with one responsibility, through qualified EU partner presses. We own no press. The coalition's presses forge, Stratosteel carries the contract, the verification and the responsibility. That is the model, on purpose. Each order is qualified on a project basis. Send the drawing to rfq@stratosteel.com and a first technical answer comes within 48 hours.
How large can a forged piece be?
The network envelope via the qualified partner coalition reaches forged pieces to 109 t. This envelope is contracted, not yet exercised under a Stratosteel PO, and we state that openly. Every forging is project-qualified per order.
Do you offer ESR material?
Yes. ESR special metallurgy is available on request: the electroslag remelting route for demanding grades. It is quoted per order through the qualified partner coalition. Name the grade and the specification in the RFQ. The 48 hour answer covers feasibility and the proposed route.
Do you deliver forgings raw or machined?
Machined and documented, not raw. Machining is integrated to 50 t static under the same PO. The part arrives finished to drawing, with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, 3.2 with a named third party on request, and NDT per specification. One contract covers the forging, the machining, the verification and the delivery.
Which materials do you forge?
42CrMo4, 25CrMo4, C45, 51CrV4, 20MnCr5, 16MnCr5, alloy steels, stainless and high-temperature grades. ESR route on request for demanding grades. Traceability to heat number on every piece. If your grade is not listed, name it in the RFQ and the first answer confirms the route.
What happens after we send a forging RFQ?
Within 48 hours an engineer sends the first technical answer: feasibility, proposed route, open questions. The firm quote follows in 3 to 7 working days once the forging unit is confirmed. Then one PO with Stratosteel covers the forging, machining, verification, documentation and delivery. We manage the presses. You audit through us.
